Portland Metro Plumber

Frequently asked questions

Using the service

Is this a plumbing company?

No. Portland Metro Plumber is a referral service. We connect your request with an independent, licensed plumber who works your area, and that plumber does the work. We're the introduction, not the plumber.

How much does it cost to use?

Nothing. You pay the plumber directly, after you agree on the work. We don't charge you a fee and we don't take a cut that gets added to your bill.

How fast will I hear back?

The goal is a callback within a few hours during normal hours. Emergencies get routed to pros who handle after-hours calls, and those rates are higher, which the plumber will tell you before starting. Most callbacks come from the truck between jobs, so it may be a short wait.

How many plumbers will call me?

One. Your request goes to a single local pro, not a list of five companies. That's deliberate. You shouldn't have to screen a half-dozen callback calls to reach one plumber.

The plumbers

Are they licensed and insured?

Yes. The plumbers we connect you with are licensed, bonded, and insured to work in Oregon. In Oregon, plumbing and gas line work requires a licensed professional, and we only route to those.

Who are they?

Independent local plumbers and small shops, not national franchises. Every pro we connect you with actually works the Portland metro.

Before and after

What should I have ready?

Your address, a phone number that works, and a plain description of what's happening. For a drain, note which fixtures are affected. For a water heater, the age and whether it's gas or electric. That detail helps the plumber arrive with the right parts.

What if I have an emergency?

Request a callback and mark it urgent, or call. If you smell gas, leave the building first and call your gas utility's emergency line, then arrange the repair.

Do you guarantee the work?

The work is guaranteed by the plumber who does it, under the terms they give you. We're not the contractor, so the guarantee is theirs. If something goes wrong with the referral itself, tell us through the contact page.
